A good example is contagious. If you model positive behavior in your own life, you can pass it on to your students.
Educators can set a good example by treating all people with respect and consistently interrupting incidents of name-calling and bullying. One way to do this is to ask students why these names or actions are not allowed at school.
Avoid giving students the opportunity to exclude and reject others. Choose teams or groups instead of having your students choose who they will work or be on teams with.
As an educator, you can teach important social and emotional skills by example, in the way that you treat others. Aim to show your students, through your words and actions, that kindness and mutual respect are the keys to living in harmony.
